5 out of 5 stars Tough stakes better with Amazon Prime!   September 8, 2010
Chef Ed (Los Gatos, CA USA)
Yes indeed, sometimes more is better. The "Do the math" reviewer forgot to tell you that they want $8.95 shipping and handling... which brings the price to $24.95. Use Amazon Prime and save. We have 16 groundhogs and tented from mountain tops to seashores and never had a problem in any kind of terrain or weather. These are the stakes that all the better vendors are trying to copy... but they are still the best I've found in 60 years of camping. This is one product that is sure to please... even at $2.50 each!

4 out of 5 stars My go to stakes   August 28, 2010

These stakes are my go to stakes for everyday camping. These things are built really tough. They stay where you put them and are nice and easy to get into the ground. They are certainly not as light as Ti spikes, but not much heavier either. The pull out cords make it easy to get them out of tough soil.

5 out of 5 stars No others compare   August 24, 2010

These kick ass stakes take a pounding and grip, grip, grip.

7075-T6 aerospace aluminum alloy construction, has a tensile strength similar to steel.

Do not confuse these quality stakes with the coleman stakes that look similar. In a pinch I bought some of the coleman stakes and they are junk. The coleman stakes bend very easily without much abuse. They are clearly made from some lesser grade of aluminum.

These stakes are great! They are heavy duty and light weight and easy to use. Great product, I recommend them.

5 out of 5 stars May be the best tent stake on the market   August 16, 2010
Gregory A. Macklem (Salem, VA USA)
I just got back from a three day camping trip to the beach where these stakes came in handy. Based on other reviews, I decided these stakes would work in the sand much better than the cheap stakes that come with tents. Sure enough, it does. I could push these stakes into the sand by hand yet they held very tight. There were other tents with the long, aluminum spikes and the wind was pulling them out of the ground. These stakes didn't budge. The only caveat with these is there are no hooks on it to put over your tent loop. The key is to drive them in at an angle and keep the tent tight between them. Do that and you are set. The loop of string on them make them very easy to pull back out as well.
