About Coleman
The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

5 out of 5 stars Great dinnerware set!   February 19, 2010

First I have to agree with another reviewer on here that the dishes do heat up quickly when hot food is placed on them - so eating in your lap isn't really ideal. But then I imagine that it's the same with all enamelware sets, so I don't consider this a reason for not liking them. I also have to agree with another reviewer that the spoons are a bit large - ok, freakishly large. I pulled them out and compared them to my big tablespoons at home - they are at least as wide and about 1/4" longer. My husband doesn't mind them, but I do have to pack a regular spoon for my 3 year old (which fits easily in the case along with the big ones.) That being said they double nicely as small serving spoons - so alas, one less thing I have to pack. Always a plus! The knives are a bit sharper than I expected (which is awesome - I don't have to pack extra steak knives) and I love the carry case for the silverware! There's no rattling around scratching things up in your gear. The dishes are a just a tad bit on the small side, but big enough and nonetheless a great size for camping; they are small and light to pack, easy to clean, and very well made. The box my set came in was also a little "crushed", so I check each piece carefully and didn't find any scratches or defects - so no big deal. I agree that it would be nice to have a carry case for the dishes as well, but we are building a grub box for camping that will have a compartment just for them so that will be a non issue soon enough. And last but not least - I love the color!! This set is super cute (I'm such a girl - haha). I just love the "cowboy western" appeal these red speckled pieces have on my table. All in all I definitely recommend this set!

1 out of 5 stars poor quality   August 31, 2009

I wanted to like this set but it is of poor quality.
All of the plates/bowls/cups have a sharp unenameled ring around the lip.
Two of the cups were damaged/defective. One of them had a big chip out of the rim of the cup.
I love the carrying case of the silverware but the silverware has an opening where the main shaft meets the handle where food/water can enter the handle and get trapped and bacteria could grow.
Returning the set.

4 out of 5 stars Very good set   July 31, 2009

I really appreciated having this set for our most recent camping trip. It was nice not to have to use paper products. We have only used it for one trip so far but all of the pieces including the utensils seem to be of good quality. The plates and bowls are also a nice size. The only complaint I have is that the spoons are too big. They are soup spoon size and I prefer a smaller spoon. It also makes it difficult for my kids to use the spoons. I am very happy with this purchase and plan to buy an additional set. It would be nice if there was a storage bag or if the box it came end would hold up a little better for storage.

That's the best feature of the enamel products. Camping and cleaning go together and enamel products are easy to clean

Love this set, I've taken it camping 4 times so far and they still look good as new. The silverware is a lot more heavy duty than I expected. Very Happy with this purchase. You can't beat anything Coleman!
