Amazon.com Product Description The Coleman tent kit comes with everything you need to set up and break down your tent. The kit starts with four sturdy 10-inch steel tent stakes, which keep your tent from blowing away in the middle of the night. The solid rubber mallet, meanwhile, makes it easy to pound the stakes into the ground, so you don't have to search fruitlessly for a nearby rock. When it's time to pack up, you can turn to the easy-to-use tent stake puller, which keeps your fingers from cramping up. And no one wants to bring the campsite home, which is why the kit includes a handy whisk broom/dust pan combo for cleaning the tent floor. A must-have for frequent campers, the tent comes with a handy mesh storage bag. About Coleman The Coleman Company has been creating and innovating products for recreational outdoor use since W.C. Coleman started selling gasoline-powered lanterns in 1900. Inventor of the hugely popular fold-up camp stove, Coleman developed a plastic liner for his galvanized steel coolers in 1957--the birth of the modern cooler--and the company has been improving their utility and design ever since. The array of products that bear the Coleman name now includes just about everything you might need to work or play outdoors, from tents and sleeping bags to boats, backpacks, and furniture.

Coleman tent kit July 31, 2010 Kenneth W. Smith This might be useful for someone who has never camped before and doesn't have a broom, a claw hammer, or access to a Wal-mart store. Go to Wal-mart and buy some tent stakes to replace those bent wires that came with the tent, buy a cheap broom and shorten the handle, get a cheap dust pan, and use your hammer to pound and pull the tent stakes.
Great kit June 2, 2010 J. Fan Really happy with the kit. It had most of the things we needed for our tent set up. I would recommend including tent sealer in the kit, but otherwise the tools came in handy!
Review of the stakes only May 19, 2010 Ready2Fly I bought the stakes by themselves at Target on closeout. I've used them and they're great. They are made out of solid steel and go easily into the ground. I'm not sure why Coleman discontinued and replaced them with plastic ones. I guess it's cheaper to make plastic but I trust steel. Good stakes.
Stake puller and stakes are weak May 10, 2010 John Schultz (Midwest USA) I bought this because I wanted the stake puller. It was broken after the first use. If you set up a tent in your backyard for your kids this would be fine. If you camp in the midwest like Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan areas that have a lot of clay this will be useless. The stakes bent going in the clay and the puller bent after the third stake while removing them. It would be better to have a cheap claw hammer. The broom and dust pan are kind of nice, but hammering into clay or rocky soil was difficult with a rubber mallet. You would be better off buying a claw hammer and whisk separately.
Bottom line-Great for light easy camping in backyards or soft soil but useless in rugged terrain.
You'll get the Basics . May 2, 2010 dcn8v (Alexandria, VA USA) This tent kit has the basics. The stakes and the mallet are sturdy, and the stakes come with rubber tips to keep them from doing any damage when they're not in use. The stake puller is ergonomically shaped, and will work well in sandy areas. If the stakes are really stuck, it will pull out of shape. The whisk broom and dust pan are a nice addition, however they're hard to get back in the mesh bag because the strands of the broom get caught in the mesh. I agree with Mike's suggestion in his review- keep the plastic bag they come in because that will make the process much easier.
